The Visual Designer has a number of features and Dialogs available from the
main menus which will be discussed here.
First, the Designers Configuration dialog allows you to modify some of the
features of how the designer works. Here is that dialog:
This dialog allows you to define the Designers attributes, such as colors of the
drag handles, template file and pattern library file. Also four of the default fonts used in
your applications can be defined here, for use in all of your applications.
The ToolBar Properties Dialog also must be accessed from the main menu or the
main toolbar. There is only one Toolbar allowed per form.
You can also save forms as Templates from the main menu.
The Designer also has a test mode which can be access via the main menu or the
main toolbar.
The main toolbar has tooltips which describe the function of each button, so they
need not be explained here.
There are a number of useful features accessed from the main menus, such as
arranging controls by a group (centering, sizing, etc.), selecting the current default font,
defining the snap to grid settings, etc.
One very useful feature on the menu is the Tools menu. Here you can define
external applications which can be run from the Designer. There is a Tool definition
dialog which looks like this:
The <R> macro in the menu text field (description) allows you to right justify part
of the text. The tools menu is saved in a file and this file can be edited in any text editor if
you prefer.
