EZGUI and WINE !

Because of the ways EZGUI 5.0 is designed, it has excellent compatibility with the WINE emulator. Many of the choices made it its design, improve its ability to run well on WINE. For example EZGUI’s 2D proprietary Sprite engine does not require any hardware support and it works very well on Wine. Also EZGUI 5.0’s new 3D engine works very well, because it is based on OpenGL, which tends to have good support on Linux.

I have some customers who do a lot od development for Linux using WINE and EZGUI has turned out to be a great solution, so they can write Windows apps, but they run just as well on Wine.

I recently had someone test my Windows 8 test app, which does all sorts of stuff, such as ownerdraw, sprites, graphics, 3D, custom controls and more and it ran very well on OS/2 (EComStation). EComStation and OS/2 also use a form of Wine so it can emulate Windows to run real Windows apps. So for EComstation users, EZGUI (and PowerBasic) may be good solution. You can write apps which should run reasonably well on EComStation (using Wine), but also run just as well on Windows.
